Beginning as a busser at the end of my sophomore year of high school, I gained an early, ground-level understanding of how a restaurant operates. Supporting others in their roles gave me valuable insight into how each position is interconnected. That perspective positioned me to take full advantage of opportunities for growth as they arose.

As a barback, I developed a working knowledge of the restaurant’s beverage program and the range of alcohol it served. Transitioning to a server role deepened my understanding of the menu and guest experience. When I was tapped as a stand-in expo, I quickly learned the pace and workflow of the kitchen, building stronger communication and rapport with the back-of-house team.

All of these experiences culminated in my ability to perform at a high level as a bartender. This breadth of knowledge made me a highly versatile and valuable employee, capable of stepping into and excelling in any front-of-house role.
